Summer evenings we would lay
back onto the cool grass 'til sunset, you mumbling
about useless junk, me gazing
sideways, and I'd wonder who had more
grace, was it you or the sky
and as you ramble on 'bout nonsense
I was lost in the tousled
peach scented forest of your hair, caught
in the glimmering porcelain
of those tea tinted cheeks, and I swore
your laugh shamed the hyena
and fairies wouldn't fly near you for
you shone them a million
times always, and if your eyes
were lakes I'd dive to the very bottom
in search of the source of its beauty
never to emerge again unless it's with you
because honestly, time seemed so surreal
in your magnificence that I wasn't
sure the moment deserved to exist.
